How They Operate:
- Offer fake job opportunities with attractive salaries;
- Demand hefty payments for non-existent job slots;
- Confiscate victims’ funds upon arrival and force them into networking schemes;
- Hold victims in unlawful confinement and extort them.
Warning
Nigerians are advised to exercise utmost caution, as victims may risk:
- detention,
- permanent loss of their funds
- and deportation by Beninese authorities.
The Embassy strongly advises Nigerians to:
- Always verify authenticity of job advertisements.
- Refrain from making payments to anyone or Institution in exchange for a job offer.
