Cotonou, 11th September 2025 – The Embassy of Nigeria in Cotonou hosted a prestigious investiture ceremony to celebrate the promotion of senior officers serving in the Defence Section of the Embassy. The ceremony, which held at the Embassy premises, marked a moment of pride and recognition for the officers and their families.
In attendance were the Chargé d’Affaires ad interim, Director Multinational Maritime Coordination Centre, Heads of Section of the Embassy, as well as family members of the newly promoted Senior Officers.
During the ceremony, it was announced that the Chief of Army Staff had graciously approved the promotion of the Deputy Defence Attaché (Finance), Captain Ishak Isyaku, to the rank of Major. Similarly, the Chief of Naval Staff also approved the promotion of the Military Assistant (Information), Navy Lieutenant Habib Olagoke Olawoore, to the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
The newly promoted officers were reminded of the responsibilities their new ranks carry. They were urged to be mindful of their conduct, speech, and behavior, recognize that higher rank comes with greater family and national responsibilities, and to also remember that promotion is both a blessing from God and a call to higher duty.
The Nigerian Embassy in Cotonou extends heartfelt congratulations to the newly promoted officers and wishes them continued success in their service to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
