Eid-el-Fitr CelebrationThe Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Cotonou wishes to inform the general public that the Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Thursday, 19th March and Friday, 20th March 2026 as public holidays to mark the celebration of Eid al-Fitr.

This important religious observance signifies the end of the holy month of Ramadan, a period dedicated to fasting, prayer, and reflection by Muslims worldwide.

Consequently, the Embassy will be closed on the aforementioned dates in observance of the holiday. Normal official activities will resume on Monday, 23rd March 2026.

On behalf of the Chargé d’Affaires ad interim, the Embassy extends warm wishes to all Muslim faithful and the general public for a peaceful and joyous celebration.
